Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally | Album Review

Harry. Styles. After a four-year music drought, he’s back with his fourth studio album filled with electronic dance beats, soulful lyrics, and songs for every occasion. Produced by Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson, the album was recorded in 2024 and 2025 in both Berlin and London.

The 33-year-old United Kingdom native has returned to the music scene, with an upcoming world tour, the Together, Together tour.

Styles dropped his single off the album, Aperture on January 23, 2026, a window into the album filled with electronic beats and positively dance-filled lyrics.

Track one: “Aperture”, is a song that ties the album together. With repeating lyrics of We belong together and It finally appears it’s only love. A five minute song with the job of capturing the vibes of the album, and hopefully the tour.

Track two: “American Girls”, with a heavy synth and piano accompaniment, this song feels like a bittersweet ballad nodding to the “Leave America” chant from his past tour. During his most recent interview with Zane Lowe, Harry said, “I think the song to me is actually quite a lonely song in a lot of ways. I watched my three closest friends get married and actually seeing them trust in something and risk something to find something truly fulfilling, in a way that isn’t as like shiny and on paper as exciting as, you know, watching them get married I was like, ‘I’m single, so I’m having all the fun,’ and ‘American Girls’ is actually about watching them get married and there just is a magic when you find the right person that you want to be with but I think watching them do that and seeing that it doesn’t come without any risk.”

Track three: “Ready, Steady, Go!”, had a plucky guitar intro with a scratchy, voicemail-like sound in the chorus of the song. This song feels like a hand blindly leading you somewhere during a night out in the club, while the lyrics build that infectious energy. The outro is awesome and I can’t wait to scream this song on tour.

Track four: “Are You Listening Yet?” What a Basic Being Basic-like intro, the drums in the chorus with the trashy and accusational lyrics make this song feel like a battle with your inner voice.

Track five: “Taste Back”, this song sounds like the first drive of summer with the windows down after a cold winter. Feels like a reconnection with an old flame. And I’m a sucker for a reference to Paris.

Track six: “The Waiting Game”, had a fun guitar sound complimented by a beepy-boopy sound, and the lyrics are pointed toward the people who avoid responsibility, who don’t break out of their same toxic cycles.

Track seven: “Season 2 Weight Loss”, was very cool to me. The drums and synth worked really well together. The lyrics told me about the relationship between loving this new version of himself, and the anticipation of the public’s opinion on himself once he returns to the limelight. During his Zane Lowe interview, Harry said, “It’s like the mission statement of the record in a lot of ways. It’s like, you know when there’s like a Netflix show and then it blows up and everyone comes back in the second season, everyone’s got a nutritionist and everyone’s got a trainer and everyone suddenly looks amazing. Season 2 weight loss. So, it’s like this idea of just coming back as like, returning as like this is the same character, but suddenly he has cheekbones. What it was for me is like I felt like I was coming back as like a stronger version of myself.”

Track eight: “Coming Up Roses”, in this his vocals felt raw! The lyrics feel like one last attempt to save a losing game or relationship. Definitely a tear-jerker, and the last 50 seconds of the outro make me feel like levitating.

Track nine: “Pop”, a very fun, very flirty sound. Could be argued to be Cinema (from his third album, Harry’s House)’s follow up. The chorus is incredibly catchy and the outro was giving me major Djo vibes. The energy of the song was a very “will-they, won’t they” feel.

Track ten: “Dance No More”, is my favorite song after maybe three listens. This felt like a commentary between people who dance for show and the people who dance for themselves. Very funky and the bridge is chef’s kiss.

Get your feet wet

Teach them all to respect their mother

You gotta get your feet wet

Respect, respect your mother

Be a good girl, go get it, Fox

Track eleven: “Paint By Numbers”, feels like an intense switch up from the previous track. There’s a soft accompaniment of drums and guitar. When talking with Zane Lowe, Harry said, “I think I was just married to the idea of coming off the last record and coming back and the first thing I say being, ‘Oh, what a gift it is to be noticed but it’s nothing to do with me.’ I just loved that,”

Track twelve: “Carla’s Song” I truly have no words. This song felt personal.

It’s all there waiting for you.

About to embark on tour in May, we can only hope for a music video (or two) soon. See you in New York, Harry. We’ll be Together, Together very soon!
